Thoughts on submitting to an agent or editor

I was thinking today about how most of the rejections I have gotten have been "because it's not quite right for our line" yet I get comments that the writing is strong, plot is original, characters are interesting, etc. So fairly encouraging, all told. I just have to find the RIGHT line and the RIGHT person and then hopefully someone will be interested. What I have written is not all that beyond the pale, so it should be possible.

What I find interesting is that when I was at the conference a couple weeks back, editors and agents who wouldn't touch inventive paranormal romance a year ago all of a sudden wanted to see it and were looking for people with a fresh voice and original plot lines. So suddenly my list of people I can submit to just got a whole lot bigger. I wouldn't have even known any of it if I hadn't gone to the conference, so chalk a few points in favor of going to such things!

So I sent out a round of submissions to a new list of people (plus the ones I've gotten good feedback before on) with my book #2. Crossing my fingers as always, and in the meantime, write write write!
